Bug Mars

Bug Mars is changing how we farm insects, through machine learning and computer vision. Insect proteins can replace corn and soy and require less land than traditional animal feed while contributing to a more circular economy and reducing GHG emissions. But, they are still far from optimized. Current operating systems are completely manual, labour intensive, and lack adequate observational accuracy/efficiency to track rapidly changing conditions.

Hexapod helps insect farm operators meet their environmental sustainability goals by monitoring energy uses and automatically adjusting, optimizing water use and improving overall efficiencies of these operations.

Entergy Farms Ltd.

Entergy Farms Ltd was started in 2021 as a pilot project to raise crickets for human consumption. We are located in Central Alberta. As one of the key founders, I am looking to take our pilot project to the next level and tap into a resource that is taking off in many parts of the world not only because of it being a clean protein source but also because of the health benefits being researched. Crickets are a sustainable and ecologically friendly source of protein. Additionally, a secondary product from insects is frass (aka poop) which is a natural fertilizer with fungacidal properties. It is safe for children, pets and water ways. Entergy Farms will look to this as a future product.
