Join us for our virtual Founder & Funder Event: BIPOC Edition, for women founders from racially diverse backgrounds.
We’ve heard from our community how hard it is to raise investment without warm connections. That is why we are bringing together Funders & Canadian Female Founders to causally meet one another, form connections, and develop long-term relationships.
We invite 15 startups & 5-6 investors to participate.
Startup Criteria & Selection Process
Startups will be reviewed on a rolling first-come first-serve basis.
Startup Criteria:
Your technology falls within at least one of our Funder’s area of investment
You are / will be seeking venture funding in the next 9 months
You have at least one female founder or female on the executive leadership team
Your company is headquartered in Canada
Your company has developed an innovative solution
You are a Founding or Growth Plan CWN member

Jasmine has worked with the Include Ventures team for a year and a half as an analyst. Her background is in the administrative manager space, and she’s worked with local family offices and local non-profits with a focus on community enrichment and at-risk youth.

Buoyant Ventures is an early-stage venture fund focused on digital solutions for climate. Buoyant looks for scalable, climate-positive, technology-driven solutions that support adaptation to and mitigation of climate change using data, sensors, and innovative business models.
Jyoti Lamba
Vice President at Lamba Financial
As an investor, Jyoti is committed to funding more female founders, getting more women on cap tables, and ensuring that capital reaches underrepresented founders. She spent over a decade as a commercial real estate investor and developer before expanding her portfolio to include early-stage startups.
Jacqueline Blackburn
Investor at Scout Ventures
Jacqueline is focused on tackling the toughest problems through mindset and innovation @ Scout. She’s passionate about generating maximal value creation and impact through web3/blockchain infrastructure. She helps source, diligence, and execute deals as well as support current portfolio companies and investor relations. Jacqueline graduated from the United States Naval Academy and went on the lead forward deployed teams as one of the few women in the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Community. Prior to Scout, she spent two years at JP Morgan working closely with founders and helping build out their early-stage Technology and Disruptive Commerce practice.
Mohan Markandaier
Managing Partner at Good News Ventures
Mohan Markandaier is the Managing Partner at Good News Ventures, a pre-seed/seed-stage Venture Capital firm based in Toronto and investing in high-growth technology companies across North America. Mohan is a serial entrepreneur with multiple successful exits. Prior to joining Good News Ventures, he has been an active Angel investor as part of York Angels Investors. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Engineering.
